ADHD Assessment

Clear, comprehensive ADHD assessment for all ages.

An ADHD assessment helps make sense of difficulties with attention, focus, organisation and impulsivity, and opens the door to the right support and accommodations.

An assessment can help with

  • Understanding attention, focus and impulsivity
  • School and workplace accommodations
  • Guidance on next steps and support
  • A written report for schools or employers

What the assessment involves

A thorough ADHD assessment includes a detailed history, standardised rating scales, and information from more than one setting (for example home and school) where possible. You receive a written report with findings and recommendations.

Frequently asked questions

How much does an ADHD assessment cost in Zimbabwe?+

A full ADHD assessment is US$200. That covers the initial consultation and history, the standardised rating scales, scoring and interpretation, the written report, and a feedback session to explain the outcome. Follow-up therapy or review appointments are charged separately at the psychologist’s usual session rate.

Does medical aid cover an ADHD assessment?+

Several of our psychologists bill medical aid, and psychological assessment is covered by some plans but not all — it is often paid from a limited annual mental-health benefit rather than the main hospital benefit. Contact your society with the assessment code before booking so you know what you will be reimbursed, and we can provide an invoice either way.

Can adults be assessed for ADHD?+

Yes. We assess both children and adults. Many adults seek assessment after recognising long-standing difficulties with attention and organisation.

Will I get a written report?+

Yes. You receive a written report prepared by a registered psychologist, suitable for schools, employers and other professionals.
